I have gotten a few private messages with people asking me what would be the best time to workout. While it might be an individual preference for what is the best time for you, as a general rule, I suggest exercising first thing in the morning. Well, actually, second thing in the morning, right after your empowering rituals 🙂 (which we will discuss at another time)
And the reason for this is that first of all, exercising gives you satisfaction, confidence and a sense of accomplishment. It makes a huge difference to feel empowered and feel that you have accomplished something before your day had started. That empowering state of mind of yours sets the tone for the whole day.
Another reason to exercise in the morning is that your brain produces Happy Hormones when you exercise. Exercise releases endorphins, which are hormones within your brain, and endorphins make you happy.
Additionally, making a good healthy decision to work out in the morning has a ripple effect. You end up making healthier choices throughout the day. And on top of everything, exercise boosts your metabolism.
So, if you are trying to find the best optimal time to exercise, I would definitely choose early in the morning. (Maybe even when everyone is sleeping, if you have a “full house” 🙂 )
