This Privacy Policy explains how Functional Root ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit yelenat.com, contact us, subscribe to our emails, book an appointment, or use our naturopathic and functional wellness services.
Functional Root is the practice of Yelena Tselenchuk, Board Certified Naturopath and Doctor of Holistic Health. This policy covers this website and the services offered through it. It does not cover third party websites we link to, each of which has its own privacy practices.
Because we provide naturopathic and functional wellness services, you may choose to share information about your health. This can include symptoms, health history, medications and supplements you take, lifestyle and dietary habits, and results from functional laboratory testing such as blood chemistry, hormone, gut or micronutrient panels.

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) and the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) to understand how visitors use this site and to measure the effect of our emails and social posts. These tools set cookies and collect your IP address, device information and pages viewed. They run by default for visitors in the United States. You can opt out at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer, or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., which processes IP addresses to protect the site from abuse. Scheduling runs on Calendly and email on Kit; their privacy policies govern what you enter there.

We do not sell, rent or lease your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising. We disclose information only to the service providers listed above, or where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our clients, the public, or the practice.
We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. Newsletter subscribers remain on our list until they unsubscribe. Client records, including health information, are retained for the period required by applicable law and professional record keeping standards, then securely deleted.
This site uses encryption in transit, and we limit access to personal information to those who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

We may be unable to delete certain information where we need it to complete a transaction you requested, comply with a legal obligation, maintain required professional records, detect security incidents, or defend legal claims. If we decline a request, we will tell you why.
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Where we work with a minor as a client, we do so only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Sharing for cross-context advertising (the Meta Pixel) can be turned off with the cookie settings link in the footer.
